The submission should contain original material that has not been
previously published in a journal, nor is currently under review by
another conference or journal.
We strive to return a review result within three months of
submission. We believe that this interval is long enough to ensure
quality reviews but short enough to be fair to authors. Authors
should direct their questions about the review process to the
co-editors-in-chief.
TACO can only accept papers in electronic form. To submit, use the Web
site
acm.manuscriptcentral.com .
When submitting or resubmitting a
paper, an author must complete each of the steps below, otherwise the
paper will be sent back:
- Page Length -
The submission page limit is 30 pages using the 7x10 ACM
Submission Format . The 30 pages includes text, figures and
references. This is a strict limit for the submission.
If the paper is accepted, for the final version of the paper, you are
limited to 35 pages. Authors who do not follow the above formatting
during the submission and final paper preparation can end up having to
cut pages from their paper. ACM Publications will reformat the paper
if you do not, and when they do and it is over the limit they will
send the paper back to have you cut it down to fit within the final 35
page limit.
- List of Conflicts - At one point during the submission
process you will be prompted to add a "Cover Letter". In
this box, list (one per line) (a) all of the TACO Associate Editors an author on the
submission may have a conflict with, (b) all collaborators and their
affiliations (for all authors on the paper) in the past 5 years, and
(c) the name of the universities and industry sites the author's
graduated from/are affiliated with and the name of the author's
adviser.
- Conference Extension or Not - If the paper submission is an
extension of a conference paper, a footnote needs to be added to the
first page of the submission with the label Extension of
Conference Paper . Then the rest of the footnote needs to site
those conference papers and provide an itemized list of the additional
material provided in the submission over the conference papers. It
should also state how this submission adds 25% new material over the
prior conference paper(s).
If the submission is not an extension of a conference paper,
a footnote needs to be added to the first page of the submission
with the label New Paper, Not an Extension of a Conference Paper .
- Upload of Prior Conference Papers - During the paper submission
process you will have the option to upload additional files. If the
submission is an extension of conference papers, upload the PDF of
each prior conference papers during the submission processor. Name each
conference paper file based on the conference name and year in which
it was published.
- 25% New Material -
If material in the submission was previously published in a
conference, the submission needs to contain at least 25% new material,
and the submission should clearly cite the prior conference
publication and state what is the new material.
- FOR REVISED PAPERS - Upload Comments to Reviewers in the Box
Provided - A revised submission should include responses to the
reviewers comments. This has to be uploaded as text in the box
provided otherwise the reviewers will not see your comments. A
good format for the response is to list for each reviewer a summary of
each comment followed by your response.
If your paper is accepted, ACM Publications will contact you to submit
to them a publication packet. The page limit for final papers is 35
pages using the 7x10 . You must
format your paper using these style sheets.
The packet ACM Publications will want includes:
- Name and address of contact author, including email address and phone number.
- PDF or PostScript file of final version.
- Formatted source file (see www.acm.org/pubs/submissions/latex_style or www.acm.org/pubs/submissions/msword_style).
- A printed copy of the paper.
- Figures in EPS or TIFF format.
- Computing Classification Systems terms.
- General terms.
- Additional keywords and phrases (www.acm.org/class/1998).
- Signed copyright form (by the contact author) (www.acm.org/pubs/copyright_form.html).
